1. The short version

The Vantic app (app.vantic.co.za) uses your browser's local storage — not cookies — to keep you signed in and remember a couple of simple preferences; it sets no tracking or advertising cookies. This marketing website (vantic.co.za) runs Google Analytics, which does set cookies and does send data to Google — but only if you explicitly opt in via the cookie banner's "Performance" category. If you don't opt in, or you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no visit data is sent anywhere.

2. The Vantic app — local storage, not cookies

When you sign in to Vantic, your session is kept using your browser's local storage (not a cookie). This is strictly necessary for the app to work — without it, you'd need to log in again on every page. Specifically:

• Sign-in session — proves you're logged in, managed by our authentication provider (Supabase).
• "Remember me" preference — whether your session should survive closing the browser, or end when you close it.
• Simple UI preferences — e.g. light/dark mode.

None of this is used for advertising, is shared with any third party, or tracks you across other websites. It stays on your own device.

3. This marketing website — Google Analytics, opt-in only

This website (vantic.co.za) runs Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see which pages get used, on an aggregate basis — it is not loaded until you explicitly choose "Accept all" or turn on "Performance" in the cookie banner (see src/lib/analytics.ts and src/components/CookieBanner.tsx if you want to verify this directly in the source). If you decline or take no action beyond closing the banner, none of the cookies below are set and nothing is sent to Google.

Once you opt in, GA4 sets the following cookies:

Google Analytics data (page views, referrer, approximate location from IP, device/browser type) is sent to and processed by Google, a third party, under Google's own privacy policy. Vantic does not use this data for advertising, does not combine it with any Vantic app account data, and does not sell or share it with anyone else.

You can withdraw consent at any time by reopening your cookie preferences (link in the footer) and turning "Performance" back off — this stops any further data being sent and clears the cookies above from your browser.

4. No advertising or third-party ad tracking

Vantic does not run advertising of any kind and does not use third-party ad networks or ad-retargeting cookies. Google Analytics (section 3) is used only for aggregate usage measurement, never for advertising.

5. Managing local storage and cookies

You can clear local storage and cookies for this site at any time through your browser's settings (usually under Privacy/Site Data), or by reopening your cookie preferences via the footer link. Clearing local storage on the Vantic app will simply sign you out — it won't affect any data stored in your account.

6. Changes to this policy

If what's described above changes — for example, if a new analytics tool or feature genuinely needs a new cookie — we'll update this page and the date above.
